Fiji Weddings

Castaway-Island-Resort-FIJIFiji weddings are easy to arrange and it is a fantastic tropical destination for a wedding and honeymoon with a range of resorts (adults only and family friendly) to suit all budgets.

Because Fiji is very much a ‘resort’ destination, it is important to choose the one best-suited to your needs/wants and that is why we have hand-picked the ones we believe are the best, both on the mainland and in the Mamanuca islands. We only recommend properties that we have personally experienced.

Catholic and non-denominational/civil ceremonies can be arranged. Wedding packages range from less than $1000 to around $2500, depending on the location and the inclusions. Here is an overview of some of the resort wedding locations. We are happy to arrange weddings at some of the other resorts. Just drop us an email give us a call, use the form below or the chat facility.

THE FIJI MAINLAND (VITI LEVU)

Sofitel Fiji WeddingThere are a number of excellent resorts on the main island that can suit couples but especially those inviting guests as they don’t have that extra cost of transfers to the islands – and it can be nice to have the ceremony on the mainland and then go to an island resort for the honeymoon.

SOFITEL FIJI RESORT & SPA

There are many good resorts on Denarau Island (10 minutes from Nadi and accessible by road across a causeway). There are a number of excellent resorts including The Sheraton, HiltonRadisson Blu and the Sofitel. As well as quality accommodation, the Sofitel has the Mandara Day Spa and a lovely chapel wedding option. The Sheraton also has a chapel. All resorts offer nice wedding locations (e.g. in the gardens with the ocean as a backdrop). Denarau Marina is the gateway to the Mamanuca group of islands and there is a value option for guests nearby in the self-contained Terraces apartments. The Sofitel is okay with wedding guests not staying at the resort, the others not so much.

SHERATON RESORT

The Sheraton has long been a favourite for couples wanting to marry on Denarau, mainly because of the picturesque little chapel. Another nice wedding location is on the lawn just down from the chapel with the oceran as the backdrop. It can also suit couples with guests because, apart from the Sheraton resort, there are also the self-contained two and three-bedroom Sheraton Villas and it is only a stroll away to the sister property, The Westin. Guests attending weddings must stay at the Sheraton.

INTERCONTINENTAL FIJI GOLF RESORT & SPA

One of Fiji’s more recent resorts, the Intercontinental is a little further south and located on stunning Natadola Beach. As the name suggests it has an excellent golf course and Day Spa– for couples with guests they can organise ‘Spa-rties’ where the ladies indulge in some spa pampering while the lads whack the little white ball around. The wedding chapel is stunning and offers live web-cam video so guests at home can also ‘attend’ the wedding.

THE SHANGRILA FIJIANSHANGRI-LA FIJIAN RESORT & SPA

Located 45 minutes from Nadi on the Coral Coast, the Shangri-la is one of Fiji’s favourite resorts and wedding choices, often because of the lovely glass-fronted Seaside Chapel (couples can also choose Takali Beach or a garden location). The Shangri-la is the largest resort in Fiji and therefore has lots of facilities – golf, watersports, three pools (one adults only), Kids Club, six restaurants and five bars, Day Spa etc. Catholic weddings can happen in the chapel.

OUTRIGGER FIJI BEACH RESORT

Outrigger Fiji WeddingLocated about 20 minutes further along the Coral Coast, the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort is a terrific property with lots of facilities/dining options and offers hotel style accommodation, suites and bures and has a ‘Talai Butler’ service (your own butler to bring champagne and canapés to your bure or suite each afternoon, pack/unpack your clothes, make restaurant reservations, suggest tours and activities etc). Two of the resorts best-known features are the large swimming pool and the Bebe Spa. The Day Spa is situated on top of the ridge with sensational coastal views (same view as the wedding chapel). Click here for the Outrigger Dream Wedding Package (for 30 to 50 guests) and a link to a You Tube wedding video.

WARWICK FIJI RESORT & SPA

The Warwick is a popular resort. There are 250 rooms but it somehow feels like a small resort – and while Fijians are famous for being friendly, the staff here are just the friendliest (some of them have been there for many years and it is obvious as soon as you arrive that they love the resort and the guests). Couples can marry on the beach and ‘Wicked Walu’ is also a terrific location (a little island out the front of the resort, connected by a timber walkway). Brides can also choose to arrive for the ceremony on a decorated bamboo raft (Bilibili). The Warwick has a sister resort, the Naviti, just along the coast and it has some excellent all-inclusive accommodation/meal/beverage packages.

FIJI’S MAMANUCA ISLANDS

Castaway Island Sophie's WeddingThe Mamanuca group of islands are off the west coast of the mainland (so there can be some stunning sunsets). They are easy to get to by launch from Denarau Marina (usually three times a day) or by seaplane or helicopter. Most islands offer beach weddings and there are chapel options on Treasure Island, Mana Island and Tokoriki Island.

CASTAWAY ISLAND FIJI

There’s something special about Castaway Island Fiji Resort – it suits couples wanting romance and privacy and also suits guests with families as it has one of the best Kids Clubs in Fiji. The diving is sensational and the dining superb. There is a saying on Castaway, “One visit and you’re hooked” and this seems pretty much the case as over 50% of guests are repeat clients.

MANA ISLAND RESORT

Mana is a large island (300 acres) but it is easy to get around the resort. There are nice beaches on both sides of the island, so there’s pretty much a guarantee that one will be sheltered if there’s any wind about. There are two large swimming pools (one adults only) and a range of accommodation to suit couples and families. Couples choosing to marry on Mana can have the wedding on one of the beaches or in the seaside wedding chapel.

TREASURE ISLAND RESORT

Treasure Island Resort has been one of the Mamanuca’s favourite islands since 1972. One unique feature Treasure has is its own after hours transfer service so guests arriving after scheduled ferry times can head to the resort rather than have a night at a Nadi property. The transfer takes 25 minutes from the mainland. Couples choosing to marry on Treasure can have a beach wedding or get married in the Sigavou Chapel (the aisle is glass with sand and shells below). Accommodation is in Island, Ocean View or Beachfront Bures.

PLANTATION ISLAND RESORT

Plantation Island is known for being a ‘fun’ island – casual, relaxed with lots of activities – swimming pools, water slides, white sand beaches and a great lagoon… and it has some of the best value wedding packages in Fiji – prices start from around AUD$1000 for a simple ceremony for an eloping couple to $4000 for an all-inclusive package that includes the ceremony, lovo (feast) and 3 hour beverage package for 30 people plus four nights’ accommodation for the bride and groom. Plantation is 10 minutes transfer from the mainland by air or 50 minutes by boat.

MALOLO ISLAND RESORT

Tokiriki Island WeddingMalolo is a casual, laid back resort with a ‘rustic’ feel that doesn’t lack comfort and luxury – the 49 beachfront bures are all air-conditioned and were all recently refurbished. The beautiful lagoon and beaches make this the prefect tropical backdrop for a tropical wedding.

LIKULIKU LAGOON RESORT

This is Malolo’s ‘sister’ resort and arguably Fiji’s most romantic retreat for wedding/honeymoon couples with a reasonably healthy budget. The wedding part is inexpensive (and sometimes even ‘free’ as part of an accommodation package) – what you pay for is the breathtaking turquoise lagoon and the standard of accommodation from the Deluxe Beachfront Bures with private plunge pools to the only true ‘overwater’ bures in Fiji.

TOKORIKI ISLAND RESORT

Tokoriki is one of our favourite boutique resorts for weddings and honeymoons. The adults only resort has an onsite wedding coordinator to ensure everything is perfect on the day (and they only allow one wedding on any given day). Couples can choose to marry in the Fijian style wedding chapel or on the beach and the luxurious Sunset Pool Villas are simply divine with own private plunge pool. The dive sites around Tokoriki are excellent and they can arrange a romantic picnic for couples on their own private island.

MATAMANOA ISLAND RESORT

Nick and Kerry Vanuatu WeddingMatamanoa is also a boutique adults only resort with a nice beach for the wedding venue. There are hotel rooms as well as bure accommodation so can suit couples who have invited a small group on a bit of a budget. There are plunge pool bures here, too.

Those are just some of the resorts with just a thumbnail guide so just drop us an email or call to have a chat and perhaps include a bit of a ‘wish list’ that may help us make some suggestions and recommendations. We don’t charge a fee for wedding coordination and it costs no more to go through us than to the resort(s) direct – we are also unbiased, can package flights with accommodation and having an office in Australia makes contact and payment easy. And, of course, a chat costs nothing!
